12:30pm-1:30pm Old-Time Rhythm Back-Up Guitar with Paul Hammerton. Paul has been an important part of the regional music community. In keeping with our theme this year, of celebrating the regional musicians, Paul will be incorporating Joe Herrmann's original fiddle tunes into the various techiniques he'll be sharing in the class. This workshop is for ADV/beginners and intermediate players, and those who are curious.

12:30pm-1:30pm Irish Fiddle with Joe DeZarn
Is this the Golden Age for Irish fiddle music?
My sources say "Yes!". What is our role in this Golden Age? On World Fiddle Day, our role is to attend the Irish fiddle workshop on offer from the Harper's Ferry World Fiddle Day celebration. There, we'll take a look at the broad landscape of Irish fiddle music, and dip a little more deeply into my favorite aspects of the art form. I'm hoping attendees will bring their questions, ideas, curiosity and fiddles to the workshop. I'm hoping they/you will be willing to take a swing at learning a jig which is called I Ne'er Shall Ween Her. Here is a link for a very learnable setting of the tune, played cleanly and at a moderate tempo:

"I'll share my approach for learning tunes. Overall, I'm looking forward to spending a happy chunk of a Saturday afternoon with those who can attend."

2pm-3pm The Fiddle Tunes of Joe Herrmann. We're excited to feature the music of the legendary West Virginia musician, Joe Herrmann. He will be teaching this workshop, to share his original tunes, and to show us how he plays them. Bring your instruments, but listeners are equally welcome.

3:30pm-4:45pm Darol Anger-Fiddle. Darol is one of the most beloved fiddlers in the Americana music scene and will be our first guest musician from out of the region. We've invited Darol to share his musical wisdom, wit, and skill in our last workshop of the day. He will also be the featured artist in the evening concert. You won't want to miss this chance to learn from the master, Darol Anger.
